Truth or Dare; J/B & E/B; PG for alcohol
The night before her wedding, Bella went to La Push to say goodbye to Jake. And ended up being suckered into a game of truth or dare. It had all been rather tame until Jake had pulled out a bottle of Jack and poured shots. “Shoot for everything that’s true.” They’d been playing for 30 minutes and Bella’s head was more than fuzzy when Jake asked, “Do you wish it was me waiting for you at the end of that aisle tomorrow?” Tears pushed at the edges of her eyes as Bella picked up the glass and tipped her head back, feeling the burn of the alcohol as it ran down.

“Sometimes, I wish I wasn’t so stubborn,” she said through tear-blurred eyes.

“I love you, anyway,” Jake whispered, as he took another shot.

I CAN'T STOP READING THIS ONE. IT'S SO BRILLIANT. She's going to regret all that drinking the next day though. Hungover on her wedding day, how awful.

Watercolor, Jacob/Bella, G
They were sitting in the garage, taking turns swigging from a bottle of vodka and Bella was wondering how in God's name she hadn't thought of this before.

It had been easy to get the bottle. In an ironic reversal of their trip to the movies with Mike Newton, Bella had supplied the cash and Jake had done the purchasing - he didn't exactly look like a child anymore.

Now she was slightly drunk for the first time in her life and she closed her eyes, breathed heavily, wholly.

The relief was unimaginable.

The pictures behind her eyes were fuzzy now, blurred. No more sharp edges to carve at the hole in her chest.

She could think his name like a watercolor, see his face like an abstract poem.

She could love him without bleeding.

Jacob was shaking her. "Bells, honey, wake up."

Her eyes fluttered blearily open.

"Geez, you only had, like, three shots." He grinned. "Lightweight."

She blinked, frowned. "Give me a break, I'm a girl."

Jacob nodded solemnly. "Yes you are. A very small girl. And you really need to sober up before Charlie sees you. I'll get you some water, wait here."

She closed her eyes again, reached out and grabbed at his arm, clinging. "No, just sit with me a bit longer."

She pulled him back down beside her.

He chuckled, leaned back against the cold stone wall of the garage, put his arm around her. "Alright, just a few more minutes of oblivion for you."

He knew what this was about. Bella thought it was funny that he knew what this was about and he didn't mind.

She rested her head against his chest, feeling the unnatural heat of him spread over her ear, her cheek, her neck, mirroring the liquid warmth of the alcohol in her stomach and head.

"I love you Jake," she murmured. "So much."

She felt the muscles of his shoulder tense and shift.

Then she felt him sigh.

"I love you too."

Oooh, this is lovely and befuddled. I mean, in a good, drunken way :)

Shot for Shot; Jacob/Bella; PG-13?
Werewolf and Vampire sit across from each other, the bottle of whiskey and four rows of shot glasses between them.
Noses wrinkle as their scents drift to each other across the table.
Natural enemies.
The werewolf pours the whiskey into the twenty four glasses and sits back.
They eye each other, judging the other's stamina.
This was their third round, and the werewolf hadn't spilled a drop.
"Give in." He growled.
The vampire picks the first shot, downing it in a flash of inhuman speed.
Werewolf follows suit.
Grab. Shoot. Slam.
Shot for shot.
They battle on.
"Why does it take you so long to get drunk?" The werewolf asks, voice steady.
"Why? You ready to give in?"
"You wish," a canine grin.
Shot for shot for shot.
Round six the vampire stands.
"I surrender. I can't smell you anymore."
"I couldn't smell you two rounds ago," The werewolf chuckles and lays his head down on the table.
"You big oaf, you're going to get alcohol poisoning!"
The werewolf laughs at the joke.
They only have an hour before the numbness wears off, and will once more have to maintain a tables length distance.
They don't waste it.
Bella rolls out of the bed the moment wolf stench permeates her heightened senses.
Jacob grabs hold of her before mumbling sleepily, "no, a few more minutes..."
"Can't, you stink." She says, smirking and then heading toward the bathroom.
She doesn't take a breath until she's showered the wolf's smell off her body.
Sobriety stunk.
She opens the curtain to find the werewolf standing there holding his nose and looking impatient.
"God, you smell like dead roadkill," He scowls, jumping into the shower.
"I'll see you on Friday," She says as she gets dressed ignoring the comment.
"You're buying next time." Jake pokes his head around the curtain, grinning.
She’s already half way out the door. "Love you!"
"Love you too, just wish you didn't smell so bad..." he mumbles before resuming his shower.
Bella showers once more at home before she meets the Cullens for 'breakfast'.
The scent of him washed away, but his heat and his touch would never.
Rosalie asks about the crates of whiskey she pulls off the back of her truck and stocks in the basement.

She just smiles.
