Better Off: Jacob/Bella (G)
When Jacob Black finally turned into a werewolf, Sam Uley convinced him he’d be better off with short hair. Delirious and fatigued he let them chop off his ponytail and shave the rest . When it was done they went to clean up the hair, but he grabbed the hank that used to be his ponytail before they trashed it, and shrugged when they looked at him strangely.

It took a while before he realized why he had kept it. Bella, roads always lead back to Bella. He knew she loved his long black hair, and he knew she loved him. Even if she didn’t know it herself. So it was with great anguish when he saw her the first time after his transformation and her eyes flickered to his shaved head, and pain flashed through her them. When he finally left her at her truck, barely holding back his anger, tears and frustration he grabbed that hair and headed to the cliffs.

He pulled a few strands out and tested the wind. It was light, but his hair strands still flew wildly. He let them go and watched them drift down towards the water. Nothing would ever be the same for Jacob Black. He unbound the hank of hair, mourning, and tossed it over the edge. Like his innocence. He was close to tossing himself over the edge and just floating off into the ocean, never to be seen again. But he didn’t, because he was suddenly remembering his promise to Bella. How could he leave her behind?

He ran back to the house. What he needed was a plan. So he got started, hair forgotten. Though in the back of his mind he decided to grow it back, better off or not.

Apparently I need to edit more thoroughly. Sorry! Repost.
