Three Sides; Renee/Charlie, Esme/Carlisle, Billy; G
Renee sat, Charlie on one side, Phil on the other. The bridal march had just ended and she had watched Charlie walking their daughter down the aisle, tears down his cheeks. She felt him clasp her hand and she squeezed gently, starting to cry herself. Weddings were always a goodbye, but standing with her hand in Charlie’s, she felt they had missed any hello with their daughter. And something told her it was too late. Charlie squeezed back and she wondered if he was feeling the same.

Esme and Carlisle’s smiles were genuine, but tense. They were thrilled to see Alice’s lovely planning coming to life and to see Bella walking down the aisle. They had never seen Edward so happy. But behind the pageantry was the threat of a Cullen losing control, the Volturi making a surprise visit, being exposed. But they held each other close and sent encouragement and love through their touch. They could only hope for the best. And keep smiling.

Billy sat, stone as the cold ones he glared at. He did not try to hide his disdain for this ceremony. Jake was foremost on his mind and Billy could almost feel the pang in his heart that had sent his son running. Billy mourned for that life unrealized. And he mourned for Charlie, losing his daughter most definitely. And he hated the cold ones for interrupting that life. His bones ached to protect those he loved. But he sat, stone in his wheelchair, the heat of hate flushing his cheeks.

I always wished we could see more of how Billy is taking all of this, being so close to Charlie and yet knowing everything he does. Thanks for this! I love hearing more about Billy.

I love drabbles from multiple points of view. Very nice. Agreed that more Billy is a good thing!

awwwww all three parts are so good. I especially love the Billy section, but what's great about this is how balanced it is.

Stronger, Bella/Jacob, Edward and Esme (PG)
He sat at the piano, his fingers still, his body still. Today he had watched Bella marry Jacob from the shadows of the church, and in the shadows he would stay for the rest of his inhuman existence. The punishment for his sins was to have the one taste of love dashed forever from his lips.

Then a pair of cool arms slipped around him and a wave of love and fear poured into his mind... Edward my son my dearest son I'm so sorry please don't leave me like my first baby did I love you we all love you it's not enough it will never be enough but please don't leave us this time don't leave me don't I love you I love you I love you...

Edward instantly turned and laid his head on Esme's shoulder. In a whisper he committed to an eternity of pain. "I will be stronger this time, Mama, I promise. I promise." I love you too...

I liked it! Such a believable situation between Esme and Edward.

Re: Stronger, Bella/Jacob, Edward and Esme (PG)
GUH. See that's why I had such a problem with Edward's suicide attempt. I get that he was in incredible pain and all but OMG POOR ESME. It would break her heart.

Loved this and loved how you brought him back to the piano. There's not enough emphasis on his music in the later books.

:( Poor Eddie. I love this, it's brilliant. Especially how Esme's thoughts read like thoughts.

White wine and seating charts, Renee, Jacob/Bella, G
Newb here :)

Renee comes to Forks to help with the wedding, terrifies Bella with her enthusiasm, charms everyone else.

Everyone but Charlie. Especially Charlie.

The way she takes to Esme is ridiculous. Bella shakes her head, thinks how her mother never did have normal survival instincts, bites her lip because natural predator or not, Esme would never ever hurt her.

Renee isn't wary of Edward anymore either, whispers excitedly to Bella how he really is embarrassingly good looking.

Somewhere between a glass of white wine in the living room and seating charts in the kitchen Jacob Black's name comes up.

Renee wrinkles her nose. "Those kids from the reservation?"

Bella thinks that's what makes her drive to La Push the next morning, park a little way from Billy Black's house, sneak into the empty garage.

She thinks that's what makes her sit there for three hours, sip warm soda, cry.

Posted some thoughts at sortofbeautiful... Bella's thoughts on Renee and Esme are interesting, and I sure as blazes hope Renee behaves better than this in the actual book!

Sue with S/E and Billy; PG
Sue refused to look at them; across the table her husband's niece and her should-have-been son--in-law. A bear attack my ass, she had thought at the time but gave over to the story everyone spouted. Finally, Leah told Sue everything the day after she phased, finally brought into the circle she had stood outside for too long. Her daughter, no longer crying, spoke in a hushed monotone. Sam. Imprint. Emily. Long and limber, Leah but curled into her mother again but dry-eyed this time. I always knew it was not my girl, she thought, a train of thought without end. No one would would leave her girl by choice. Sue refused them, consequences for snubbing the alpha, she reckoned as she leaned into Billy and asked him to cut the deck before she cheated with the queen up her sleeve.

renee, esme, & bella
Her mother (the real, other, tangible and forever human one) was not understanding. Renee was blunt, sometimes. And like all blunt knives, never knew how far and deep to cut. Till the wound was already done and fresh, and the spatters of bloody hurting the Other Mother.

And so, Bella bled and watched as her blood flicked onto Esme’s face.

And Esme flinched, because Bella was still human and Esme was still so thirsty.

Sometimes, Bella thought, it was hard. Having two mothers. Like having double the trouble, double the work in keeping them content. Or rational. Or away from each other’s throats.

Literally.
